What’s Shiny and Silver and Round All Over

That’s right, if you’ve guessed it, you’re at our next stop: The Chicago Bean, located in Chicago (if that wasn’t already obvious), Illinois.

Honest to god, the bean was so cool. The whole thing is one entire mirror. Any angle you go to, you can take some kind of picture that looks so trippy and honestly, Instagram worthy. Look at me, basing this off of Instagram. But seriously, it’s really cool and worth the visit. You can also walk underneath the Bean, get to see different mirror angles.

I’m going to throw out some history. It’s actually known as the Cloud Gate, made by a sculptor named Anish Kapoor in 2004 to 2006. Overall, the bean is made up of 168 stainless steel plates, put together so that there are absolutely no seams (I can personally attest to that).

Cloud Gate is located in Millennium Park; there are so many nice areas in the park to just hang out and relax. When I went, I specifically saw some fountains, that were kind of creepy. There were faces of children on the fountains.

There’s also a monument; it’s called Wrigley Square, which looks exactly like a Greek styled monument.

Overall, it’s worth the trip. Definitely be wary of the tourist season, I suggest going to see the bean earlier on in the morning to avoid the huge crowd. The other areas in the park are much less populated so you can check those out later on.
